Brunswick, VIC, Australia, 29/09/2021— Melbourne-based, Indonesian musician & songwriter has finally started her solo project in 2021. She grew up in Jakarta, and has been actively joined musical activities since she was a kid. During her high school year, she started to write her own songs and released her first self-composed song, “Do you know?“, as a school project. Had been struggling with her self-confidence through the years, she has finally decided to open up and deliver her expression through melodies.
This year, she unveils her artistic work through a song that is written, composed & produced by herself, “Hey Dear, Heidi”, as a form of self-expression. It will be released on 22nd October 2021 as her 25th birthday gift, simultaneously marked her major breakthrough in the music industry.

The song intends to persuade listeners to leave all the worries behind in the midst of “separation”. The song contains a straightforward powerful intro and easy-to-digest chord progressions. In terms of the composition, she combines the sound of distorted guitar rhythm and hooky pop melodies accompanied by some soulful vocal harmonies throughout the song. Michelle also intends to blend the indie-pop anthemic tunes with her evocative vocals, then wrapped it up with a rock-style instrumentation to provides a dynamic atmosphere.
“This year, I’ve decided to battle the anxiety and get rid of all the intrusive thoughts, at least have that courage to show my humble piece of work no matter how the outcome is.”, Michelle said.
Due to the never-ending lockdown in Victoria, Michelle had a chance to learn about music production in her bedroom and started producing her own tracks on GarageBand with some limited equipment. She’s been piling up a lot of lyrics and demos before finally decided to produce music on her own and “hey dear, Heidi” is one of the songs that has been recorded & composed during lockdown. Moreover, the song is also co-produced, mixed & mastered by Rama Harto at Rekam Kamar, Jakarta, Indonesia, who’s impressively put a cherry on top at the end.
