Cema (@chendrama) is a multi-instrumentalist, a singer-songwriter, and a music producer from Indonesia. Started from the corner of his bedroom with his simple trifle pieces of equipment, Cema embroiders his based on his couple of bad romance stories pieces of tones to become old vibey sad pop songs with a little bit of modern touch.

Came from nowhere, Cema began his musical journey when he was about 10 years old with guitar and bass as his first-ever instrument to play. He began to play the drum when he was in his junior high school era then ended his drummer era up in his final period as a collegian. Cema started to write a song since he was a high school nerd, then moved to SoundCloud on his 20 so people around him could listen to what he was wanted to say at that time with the music he wrote. For him, music is an exit door for every experience that he has been through, mostly the bad ones.

From time to time, he teaches himself to produce his song using many digital tools, write an arrangement, record the instruments, and compose the song. Grow up as a band kid, he also teaches himself to play several instruments and write a song. Cema was a rock n’ roll drummer, was an oldish guitarist, and was (and is still) a bluesy bassist player. But in 2020, he decided to move along into the music as a soloist with the music he produced. By the very first of 2021, he has released his first-ever single called “Wish It Was You” that is now available to listen to on Spotify, iTunes, Youtube Music, etc. Now, he is preparing for his debut album to break the chance to become one of the most underrated musician. At least he hopes so.

Let’s hope so. After all, Cema is just a boy who wants to be heard and the rest is still on the way for years to come.

After the worldwide release of his debut single, “Wish It Was You” and its official lyric video on Youtube, in the very early year of 2021 on January 1st, now Cema comes again with his second single called “Fine” which will mark his continued existence in music before the release of his debut album in mid-2021. Just like “Wish It Was You”, “Fine” tells about the a-not-okay love story that is honestly coming from Cema’s real experience. As always, he turns his burned-down love story to a melody.

This song is telling us about when we are pretending to be fine, but actually, we are not. Regret is a haunting feeling that makes us so low, but turning back the time is something that we can’t ever do. “Fine” is about how hard the letting go phase is. In this song, again, Cema took all of the instrument’s parts and record some of them at his studio and ask a huge favour from Reza Rezroll as a producer to help the rest.

Blended in slow and sad vibey music, the arrangement of the song itself is still playing around 80’s Pop and R&B sound in a modern atmosphere.
